It’s true! I am famous, although you would have no idea that that’s me! A photo student here at Yale needed subjects and I totally skipped a library orientation to go! So cool! Dreams do come true!

Also, on an unrelated topic I wanted to highlight the fact that I have reached 1,000 bookmarks on the delicious bookmarking site! So delicious! It’s pretty cool! xoxo Lauren

It’s true. Summer is over. I am going to school tomorrow at 9am. Both weird and cool at the same time! I just uploaded some pics I took while visiting a tomato festival at a lovely farm in Mass a couple weeks ago. It was awesome to hang out with my good friend Rachel and meet her awesome boyfriend who lives in a tent and works on the farm. Then last week I took lots of pics at Coney Island to savor Astroland before they tear it down:

Here are a few highlights from the set:

R’okay d’okay! I can’t wait to start making new work! Yaaaay! xoxo Lauren

It’s true! I’ve never lived in a place before where I can hear crickets! It’s pretty awesome. This week has been busy busy with the move. I unpacked so many boxes today all with the help of my amazing Mom. My parents are truly the best! Furby is a little disturbed by the move and the cricket racket. He keeps jibbering in this weird language that I cannot understand. Oh wait, he always does that…Despite how chaotic moving and unpacking is, I’ve been feeling really at ease here. On Tuesday we discovered this amazing Japanese market where I had to take tons of pics:

Oh how I cannot wait to start making tons of new work!! Well, I’ll have tons more to share soon! xoxo Lauren

Oh dear. This is so hard. Brooklyn is the best, especially when made of chocolate! Oh, but this is not a goodbye. I’ll be back almost every weekend right? I’m really just moving to the 6th borough…right….Greenpoint is the best place ever even if it has the oil soil and shit tits at its core (how more appropriate the chocolate reference becomes)! All I can say is that even if I grew up on the islands of Roosevelt and Manhattan, I am a true Brooklyn girl and I WILL BE BACK!

I look forward to making TONS of NEW work to share with you at snackmountain and I hope you’ll stop by to visit! xoxo Lauren

Hi there, I thought I’d share with you some recent custom one of a kind pieces I’ve done for friends as gifts! First I made some hoodies as a wedding present for my buddies Mattches and Jenn:

Then I made some custom onesie’s for co-workers who were having lil babins! The watermelon is my new fave!

In other news, I’ve been busy getting ready for the move! My classes at Yale start the first week of September and I’m moving in 10 days!

Ciao! Lauren

YES YES YES! Do you understand that I actually started hyperventilating today when I read in NYmag that NYC ICY is BACK!! They opened two locations, one in Hell’s Kitchen and the other at Coney Island. I am gonna be in Hell’s Kitchen this Saturday so I will definitely be going there and eating about 3-4 ices. Wowwowowow! I can’t wait to eat the coconut flavor that tastes like suntan lotion and the choco choco chip that satisfies my chocolate need without requiring a lactaid! You don’t understand how heartbroken I was when they closed their East village location 4 years ago! Cheers! xoxo Lauren

HELLO. I have just returned from a fun famliy event in Ohio. We got to go to some flea markets too where I took a bunch of pics. We were unfortunately subject to evil airplane hell on the way back and I feel lucky to have made it home! I really wish that I could hug this gorilla right now. He seems so warm and inviting. He could be king kong and I could be his ladyfriend. Ok, clearly I am still delirious from my travels. At the flea markets I found these old better crocker cookbooks that I have been searching for. It’s kind of amazing when you go to a flea market and find exactly what you are looking for. Another hilarious item that I refrained from buying was this salt and pepper set:

I have been trying not to buy much these days since I am moving soon. It’s so hard though. I am actually going to have my own sort of yard sale next month to get rid of lots of stuff. Should be interesting! xoxo Lauren

On Thursday, we went to see the Murakami show before it closes (this coming weekend). It was pretty extensive. They had these great animations of two of his characters Kakai and Kiki. Pretty amazing. There was also a room filled with flower characters. Even though I’ve made a vow not to buy anything else these days I had to buy the plush flower. I decided to bring it to Fire Island. Flower boy and Fifi La Femme hit it off instantly. For dinner, we all enjoyed some beercan chicken:

It is cooked with an open beercan inside to keep it moist. It was pretty amazing! You can see more pictures from the holiday weekend here! xoxo Lauren

Tom Sachs is a genius. I love that he made these kitty fountains/sculptures for the Lever House and did not clear rights for them. The works themselves are indeed amazing. She looks so sad! I feel like someone should write a haiku for her. I walked by on the day they were installing and nearly had a heart attack! Here I am looking like an average tourist in midtown!

Today I was working on some custom hoodies for some friends who recently tied the knot. It was fun to be back in the studio again! I don’t want to spoil the surprise of the new design but I’ll def post pics here once the secret is loose! :)

xoxo

On Tuesday, we went to the MoMA Party in the garden for members and staff can buy tix to go.  It was sorta a last hoorah for my time working there. There was an apocalyptic style thunderstorm but it was short and kinda exciting. I took lots of pics for the memories!

MIA performed too which was RAD. The sound was so loud though that we had to go to the back so we wouldnt go deaf. Haha. I love the way this pic came out!! Finally, I’ll leave you with this pic of guerilla subway art that I find pretty amazing:

I’m off to New Haven to look for a place to live. Ciao!!

xoxo Lauren
